Kuwait’s Americana logs USD57.3m net profit in Q1

(MENAFN) Americana Group, Kuwait Food Co, recorded a net profit of about USD57.3 million in the first quarter of the year, marking a slight decrease by 4.3 percent, Reuters reported.
The company’s quarterly profit stands in contrast with the USD60.02 million recorded in the corresponding period last year, according to a corporate bourse statement.
Americana is an operator of a chain of restaurant franchises, among which is KFC. However, the company said that some of its prime shareholders are yet in discussions for undertaking a sale process.
