Kuwait’s inflation rate increases to 3.5 percent in June

(MENAFN) Kuwait’s inflation, or Consumer Price Index (CPI), increased to 3.5 percent in June, marking the Kingdom’s highest since April 2012, according to Kuwait’s statistics office, Reuters reported.

Prices of food and beverages, which contributes for 8 percent of the total inflation, increased by 3.6 percent in comparison with the number logged in the corresponding period last year.

Furthermore, housing prices, which account for 29 percent of CPI, increased by 6.5 percent year-on-year and 0.8 percent month-on-month.
