18 Mar 2012

(MENAFN) Kuwait’s budget airline Jazeera Airways secured rights to operate flights between Kuwait and Iraq’s Al Najaf, Arabian Business reported.

Jazeera Airways said it will be the first Kuwaiti airline to operate a scheduled service to Iraq. Flight operations will start within six months, it added.

The airline also said that it was granted access to Kuwaiti airlines to operate to other Iraqi cities, including Mosul, Baghdad, Arbil and others.

Set up in 2005, the airline currently operates 18 non-stop routes in the Middle East from Kuwait. It carried 1.2 million passengers across its network last year.
