(MENAFN) Kuwaiti’s tourism sector is expected to provide 15,000 job opportunities by 2020 in the tourism industry, and sourced confirmed that the sector is seeking to increase the number of touristic projects to target about 1.6 million tourists this year.
Accordingly, they explained that four authorities are participating in the project for developing and promoting national tourism especially with the fall in oil prices. Also, The need for paying special attention to the tourism sector as a source of income has been understood.
However, some of the challenges faced in this regard include lack of making use of the strategic geographical position of Kuwait, absence of touristic landmarks in the country, high prices of land and long documentation process (bureaucracy) in issuing entertainment and tourism licenses.
