(MENAFN) Kuwait’s Wataniya Telecom said that net profit in the fourth quarter surged 57 percent to USD137 million from USD87 million in 2010’s same period, reported Gulf News.
Kuwait’s National Mobile Telecommunications Co. added that the growth resulted from positive performance in its Kuwaiti and North African operations, in addition to Palestine.
Moreover, total customer base rose 7.4 percent at the end of the fourth quarter, to reach 17.8 million subscribers.
It is worth noting that Wataniya’s fourth-quarter revenue jumped 34 percent to USD669.56 million.
