(MENAFN) Governor of Lebanese Central Bank confirmed that Technology and IT sectors expected to have a bright future, as he was illustrating the Bank’s initiatives to invest in the productive sectors.
During the Arab Financial Inclusion Day conference held at Ecole Superieure des Affaires, Riad Salameh said: “This promising sector will soon represent more than 2 percent of GDP. It will also attract the Lebanese who left the country to work in this particular field.”
And he explained: “Today there are more than 120,000 housing loans and more than 700,000 people who benefited from the Central Bank program. Through our support for consumer loans, we have taken a big step toward financial inclusion to create greater rapprochement between the citizen and the bank.”
Moreover, he confirmed that the bank’s main goal for the near future is to ensure a better life for the Lebanese citizens.
