(MENAFN) STR Global said that last month, Bahrain’s tourism sector rebounded with occupancy rates at Manama’s hotels hiking 112 percent from 2011’s same period to 45 percent, reported Arabian Business.
The company added that average daily rates (ADR) in the capital jumped 14.6 percent in March, whereas revenue per available room (RevPAR) hiked 143.1 percent to USD97.96.
It also noted that the notable growth in Bahrain’s tourism industry shows that the country is recovering from the economic effect of the political upheaval that swept the kingdom in early 2011.
It is worth noting that occupancy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s hotels grew to 65.1 percent, with an increase of 14.6 percent from last year’s same month.
