ME air freight ranks first in growth

05 Apr 2014

(MENAFN) The Middle Eastern airlines logged a double-digit growth in freight volumes in February 2013, Times of Oman reported.

Figures by the Air Transport Association (IATA) show that the volume increased 11.9 percent versus the same month a year before.

Global air freight markets, on the other hand, registered an increase of only 2.9 percent in February.

IATA director general and the chief executive officer said: “Cargo has had a positive start to the year. There is good cause for measured optimism for the cargo industry’s prospects in 2014.”
