(MENAFN) The Middle East Paper Manufacture and Production Company’s (MEPCO) managing director, Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Muammar, said that the company’s production capacity of its new line reached 220.000 tons, raising the toll production capacity to half a million tons, reported Arab News.
Al-Muammar added that the company’s investment in the field of carton recycling stood at an estimated USD32 million in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in other 30 countries in both Asia and Africa.
He said that the company’s first factory was launched eight years ago as a modern factory in South Jeddah. Its yearly capacity had been 65.000 tons, and three years later it reached 280.000 tons.
He added that the company’s production depends on recycling paper waste which preserves trees, as well as re-using the water waste that comes from the factory in order not to overly consume this valuable source.
It is worth noting that MEPCO won many prizes, such as King Khaled award, for the company’s role in preserving the environments resources and it also won ISO certificates.
