(MENAFN) Airlines in the Mideast region are projected to reach USD400mn profit, down from USD1.1bn in 2016 which is equal to USD1.78 per passenger.
Meanwhile, the Intl Air Transport Association revised its 2017 industry profitability outlook, while airlines are projected to record USD31.4bn revenue.
Accordingly, this will be another solid year of performance for the airline industry, whereas demand for both the cargo and passenger business is stronger than projected.
This year, airlines are expected to retain revenue of USD7.69 per passenger, which is down from USD9.13 in 2016 and USD10.08 in 2015.
