(MENAFN) In 2009 Morocco set an aim of generating 42 percent of its elect from renewables by 2020 and has since revised that upwards to 52pct by 2030.
Accordingly, in 2008 the country developed its famous energy policy, which is now brought to fruition through the installation of the largest solar power plant in the world.
This year event is on track to be the biggest, expecting 38.000 attendees from 175 nations and 880 exhibiting firms from 40 countries.
The country aims to finish almost 2.000 MW of solar energy projects by 2020, involving almost 400 MW of photovolatics and a great potential for wind and hydro power.
