(MENAFN) Swiss food giant Nestle is set to build a USD136 million plant at Dubai World Central, as it aims to expand its business in the Middle East, Arabian Business reported.
Nestle is the world’s largest food company, with 1 billion products sold every day. Its products include coffee brands Nescafe and Nespresso, chocolate bar KitKat and breakfast cereal Shreddies.
The new facility will be built on a 175,000 sqm area, and will focus on nutrition, culinary and coffee products. This is expected to create 800 positions.
This is Nestle’s second factory in Dubai, as it opened one in 2010, its first new confectionary manufacturing facility anywhere in the world for more than a decade.
CEO Paul Bulcke said at the time that the company expected to double its business in the Middle East to USD3.3 billion by 2017.
