(MENAFN) Lebanese Telecommunications Minister Charbel Nahhas presented plans for starting two new low cost services for prepaid mobile subscribers, reported The Daily Star.
Nahhas said that the two new services would be called ‘Call Collect’ and ‘Friend and Family’ and they would decrease the cost for prepaid calls that are currently three times higher in prices than postpaid calls.
Nahhas said that as a part of a plan for cost reduction where, in September 2010, the ministry decreased costs by 20 to 40 percent for prepaid costumers. Third generation technology should be available by mid of 2011.
The Friend and Family service would cut down costs by 30 percent to regularly called contacts. Call Collect enables callers to request the recipient to pay for the call.
