(MENAFN) Oman Air’s CEO, Wayne Pearce, announced that the carrier’s passengers number during the January-May period jumped by 19 percent from last year’s same period, reported Arabian Business.
Pearce added that passenger revenue increased by 28 percent from 2011, whereas cargo revenue surged by 47 percent, and its tonnage climbed by 33 percent.
On the other hand, he said that Oman Air is expected to receive 2 new Embraer E175 regional jets in 2012’s third and fourth quarters, moreover, the airline has 6 new Boeing 737s on order, with 2 to be delivered in 2014 and 4 in 2015. In addition, another 6 new Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be delivered from 2015.
It is worth noting that as part of Oman Air’s expansion plan, the carrier will launch the Tehran service, starting September 1.
