(MENAFN) Oman has awarded a Multi-million dollar deals to two Kuwait-based construction firms for the execution of a pair of vital infrastructure packages connected to the development of Port of Duqm on Oman’s Wusta coast.
The 2 contractors are the Combined Group Contracting Company which will handle Investment Package 4 (IP4), and the United Gulf Construction Company (UGCC) which will cover Investment Package 3 (IP3) including a variety of tasks.
Furthermore, the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Authority at Duqm (SEZAD) is the official operator that manages the procurement of all contracts of the establishment of the mega industrial and economic hub at Duqm.
Infrastructure and utilities make up a sizable component of the packages, with the contractor obligated to build networks for potable water, storm water, sewerage collection and treatment, electricity supply, high mast lighting and fencing.
