(MENAFN) Oman Portuguese Cement Products (OPCP) plans to set up three ready-mix concrete plants to meet increased demand from contractors, reported Times of Oman.
OPCP, which also produces pre-cast concrete blocks and interlock paving tiles, plans to open two plants in Muscat and one plant in Duqm in the next three to six months, Syed Sadique Ali Rizvi, OPCP’s commercial director, said. The locations were picked for their proximity to construction projects. The company already operates one ready-mix factory in Sohar and one in Shinas.
OPCP is the supplier of concrete for Shohar University, Nagarjuna Construction’s Batinah Coastal highway project, and a 3,000 to 3,500 villa development under construction between Barka and Shinas.
Raysut Cement recently bought out Oman Investment Corp’s 40 percent share in OPCP and 10 percent of Silva Corporation’s 60 percent share.
