(MENAFN) Oman’s exports registered a decline by 10.4 percent in the January-May period, reaching USD21.50 billion, compared to USD24.09 billion registered in the same period last year, Times of Oman reported.
The drop is mainly attributed to the decrease in oil and gas exports by 9.9 percent to reach USD14.24 billion by the May, 2014, compared to USD15.80 billion registered by the end of May, 2013.
However, there was an increase registered within the exports categories in the non-oil export, which was up by 2.9 percent, amounting to USD3.88 billion May, 2014, as compared with USD3.62 billion during the same period last year.
