Oman focuses on water purification to boost life quality

(MENAFN) The demand for potable water in Oman’s northern region is projected to grow by 6 percent per annum in seven years, from 238 million cubic metres in 2013 to 349 million cubic metres in 2020, based on reports.

Accordingly, Oman is set and prepared to construct another vital water desalination facility, with a combined capacity to produce approximately 240,000 cubic meters per day.

Moreover, the facility will come up across three different sites, and it’s a part of a series of new water desalination plants planned by the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP).

Meanwhile, the Barka and Sohar developments on the Sultanate’s Batinah coast, which have a joint size of 116.8 million imperial gallons per day, are in an advanced stage of selecting a developer.
