Oman, Iraq to purchase Iran’s LNG
01 Dec 2015
(MENAFN) Iraq and Oman intend to buy LNG from Iran hence they are expecting to sign an agreement to supply gas from Jask terminal in southern Iran, according to the latest reports.
Iran has formed a 48-inch split from the Peace Pipeline to Jask terminal and after building the land pipelines, the rest of the route will be created in the Persian Gulf for the transfer of gas to Oman.
Additionally, as for Iraq, the LNG from Iran will be transferred to Iraqi Basra through the sea route therefore making it possible to export gas to Iraq both through pipeline and as LNG.
The export of natural gas from Iran to Iraq will start within three months, and it’s forecasted that gas shipments to the country will be seven million cubic meters per day in the first stage.
