(MENAFN) The Ministry of Transport and Communications formed a tender board to supervise a tender for dualising the 750km-long Adam-Thumrait stretch of the Nizwa-Thumrait road, the government has floated tenders for inviting international consultancy firms to bid for the project.
This road connects Muscat and Salalah sector the dualisation would make the road easier to pass and safer. The tender aims for a project that would transform the carriageway from a two-lane into a four-lane road.
Twenty four Omani and foreign firms bought tender documents and thus expressed interest in the tender. Major applicants include Cowi & Partners, Modern Engineering Consultancy, National Engineering Office, Parsons International, Consolidated Consultants Engineering, Al Manara Engineering Consultants and Botek ACE.
It is worth noting that the tender would open early next month.
