Oman-Raeco aims 78MW power plant in Musandam

(MENAFN) Rural Areas Elect Co. (Raeco) is aiming a gas-fired power project with a generation capacity of 78MW in the Musandam governorate of Oman.
Accordingly, the recent plan will bring these units online once whole demand increases beyond 100MW, which is projected to be in 2019.
Moreover, the jump annual growth in demand for elect in the governorate in a low case scenario for another seven years is estimated at 7 percent.
In addition, peak demand is expected to increase by an average of 11 percent per annum for the coming seven years, from 74MW in 2016 to 150MW in 2023.
