(MENAFN) OMR60mn has been set aside for tourism projects in the coming three years, while the funds were released to spread Oman’s economy as part of Vision 2040.
“We were supposed to receive the money last year, but as you know, the economic crisis prevented that from happening,” said Oman’s Minister of Tourism.
In addition, the Sultanate has 15 projects for tourism planned and this year alone it has OMR16mn for its programs, with a total of OMR60mn allotted until 2020.
Furthermore, the minister wants to increase hotel capacity to 25.000 rooms in the future, which not about the quantity of tourists, but the quality as well.
