(MENAFN) Oman plans to construct as much as 54 new hotel facilities and provide the Sultanate with 2.908 more rooms as part of its plan to improve the tourism sector, according to Arabian Business.
Most of the new hotels will be one- and two-star facilities, while 14 of them will be in the capital Muscat.
The Sultanate’s number of hotel rooms boosted 12.3 percent in 2013 to 22.521, and the number of tourists visiting the country boosted by 7.8 percent to 2.1 million.
The new hotels will add to the existing 282 accommodation facilities in Oman, representing growth of 9.3 percent.
