(MENAFN) Oman recorded an inflation rate of 1.34 percent in August this year, driven by a 7.25 percent increase in prices in the transport set and 0.83pct in the housing.However, food and non-alcoholic beverages declined by 1.12 percent, while tobacco prices increased by 0.38 percent in the same month.On the other hand, health prices grew by 0.94 percent, whereas education posted an increase of 3.03 percent and communication prices fell by 0.26 percent.Meanwhile, fruit prices recorded a 0.3 percent decline in the cited month, while vegetables dropped by 2.68 percent.
