(MENAFN) The Port of Salalah’s CEO, Peter Ford, said that the port’s management signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Spain’s Algeposa Group, the international logistics firm in order to establish and manage a coastal distribution centre, reported Gulf News.
Ford added that the centre would allow Algeposa and its clients to get access to emerging countries in East Africa, South Asia and the Gulf due to the port’s strategic location.
He also said that the project would include the establishment of a 40,000 square meters of facility of an investment of USD14 million and its annual cargo output would be forecasted to cross 400,000 tons.
It is worth noting that Algeposa Group’s company, Arabian Sea Ports Services SL, will provide global distribution services like warehousing, freight forwarding, packaging in addition to transportation.
