(MENAFN) Euromonitor International said that tourists would continue to come to Oman in 2012 since the country is perceived as a safe haven with new major projects to be launched in the near-term, reported Arabian Business.
The firm added that the country would achieve its target of attracting 12 million visitors by 2020 due to tourism related projects that are under way, including the establishment of new airports in Sohar and Duqm and several new hotel resorts.
It also said that last year, around 1,400 new rooms were made available to visitors; moreover, a number of outlets are being planned for completion within the next 5-10 years.
It is worth noting that at the current time, Oman attracts only 3 million tourists annually.
