(MENAFN) The Pakistani Ambassador in the UAE, Jamil Ahmad Khan, said that Pakistani businessmen should benefit from emerging business opportunities in the UAE and buy more shares in upcoming development projects, reported Gulf News.
At an event arranged by the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) to welcome new Ambassador Khan and Consul General Tariq Iqbal Somoro, Khan said that he plans on assisting the Pakistani businessmen in bilateral and multilateral talks in order to enhance the their businesses.
The Ambassador said that trade between the UAE and Pakistan is growing and estimated to reach a new record of $9 billion in 2011. Also, due to strong demand on items like chemicals, machinery and heavy equipment in the UAE over the past few months, they are expected to increase by 8 to 10 percent during the fiscal year 2010-2011. Imports from the UAE are predicted to grow as well, going up to $7 billion from $5 billion, he added.
