(MENAFN) A report issued by the State Bank of Pakistan showed that remittances from Pakistanis working in the GCC increased during the first nine months of its current fiscal year, Arabian Business reported.
According to the official figures, Pakistan received remittances of USD5.61 billion between during the July-March period, compared with USD4.62 billion a year earlier.
The report also found that Saudi Arabia and the UAE were the biggest sources of remittances during the period with USD2.65 billion and USD2.14 billion remitted respectively.
Pakistanis working in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman remitted more than USD1.1 billion for the period, according to the report.
