(MENAFN) Saudi Jadwa Investment stated that plastics exports of the country in 2010 saw a rise which put it higher than petrochemicals and made it the Kingdom’s biggest source of non-oil export revenue, reported Arab News.
Jadwa also said that plastics’ volume rose 42 percent last year as well as a rise in prices and its exports value hiked 79 percent to USD11.2 billion.
The company added that Saudi’s total exports rose 31 percent to USD251 billion last year compared to 2009, yet they did not exceed 2008’s all-time high USD313 billion.
It is worth noting that Jadwa’s annual report and the Central Department of Statistics’ monthly report show some difference regarding petrochemicals as the department still shows that sector to be the largest non-oil export of the Kingdom.
