Qatar agrees to increase LNG shipments to S. Korea

12 Feb 2012

(MENAFN) Qatar’s RasGas will deliver additional two million tonnes annually of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to South Korea’s state-run Korea Gas Corp (Kogas) for the next 20 years, Reuters reported.

Kogas, which is a major LNG importer, already has contracts with RasGas to receive a total of around 7 million tonnes a year until 2024-2026.

RasGas Company Limited is a Qatari joint stock company established in 2001 by Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil.

Last month RasGas delivered its first LNG cargo under new long sales and purchase agreement to Taiwan’s CPC Corporation.
