(MENAFN) Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, said that new freighter destinations to India and Vietnam would be added to its routes, reported Arabian Business.
Al Baker said that India’s new destinations Kozhikode and Bengaluru would add to the airway’s cargo capacity by increasing it to 40 metric tons weekly. He added that the airline already has 12 destinations in India, where cargo payloads vary from medical and pharmaceutical supplies to vegetables and personal effects.
He said that the flights to Hanoi, Vietnam, started as passenger flights in November and on April the company would launch cargo flights to the Vietnamese capital. This is expected to increase the company’s market growth, as the country exports lots of manufacturing goods and considered to be the world’s second largest rice exporter.
It is worth noting that by adding these three cities, the number of freighter destinations for Qatar Airways would increase to 29.
