(MENAFN) The Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker, stated that if more delays in delivery from Dreamliner Boeing 787 happen, the company would not have any choice but to cancel orders, Arabian Business reported.
The CEO said the airline ordered thirty 787s, but due to technical and labor issues there was a three-year delay in delivery. He added that according to the contract, Qatar Airways is expecting to receive the aircrafts by the end of 2011. He also said that the company expects that test flights would resume before the end of the year.
Al Baker also said that he has confidence that the delay was not a because of technical problems and that it is a workmanship issue which Boeing has probably resolved.
The first test flight was carried over a year ago. Boeing has not announced its new schedule yet.
