(MENAFN) Qatar Airways’ Ltd. CEO, Akbar al Baker, said that as the carrier planned to expand its fleet, next month, Qatar Airways would place an order for a multi-billion-dollar planes at the Dubai Air Show, reported Bloomberg.
Al Baker added that at the current time, the company had around100 aircrafts serving more than 100 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Asia-Pacific and the Americas, and by 2013, the airline would serve more than 120 routes with a fleet of more than 120 planes.
He also said that Qatar Airways already ordered more than 200 planes with a value that exceeded USD40 billion at list prices.
It is worth noting that in October, Qatar Air launched flights to Norway, and plans to announce a route to Helsinki. It operates to the Nordic capitals of Stockholm and Copenhagen.
