(MENAFN) Qatar Airways said that it does not have any plans to privatize for at least the coming 10 years after initially considering plans in 2008, Arabian Business reported.
“In 2008, during the global economic recession, we were looking to privatize the carrier, but now the company has decided at the board level not to go for privatization at least for the next 10 years,” Qatar Airways Chief executive said to the local media.
The carrier also said that it will be moving ahead with its aggressive expansion plan, including introducing new destinations as it starts receiving more deliveries of aircraft from Airbus and Boeing.
Meanwhile, the airline said that it is currently testing new technology to simultaneously record flight data on the ground to enable crash investigations even when a black box cannot be recovered or has been interfered with.
