(MENAFN) A new report showed that business environment confidence in Qatar remains strong, despite the decline the composite Business Optimism Index (BOI) in the past two quarters.
The third-quarter BOI report shows that although panned expansion activities have lost some traction in both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon sectors, the outlook is still seen strong.
The construction sector forecast dropped from a BOI of 46 in the second quarter to 34 in the third quarter on the back of competition, drying up of new projects and reduced business activity in the summer.
“Over the years, we have noticed a trend in which the private sector expects the third quarter to be a weak quarter. This is attributable to seasonal factors,” the Qatar Financial Centre CEO said.
