(MENAFN) Qatar and Indonesia announced reactivating the USD1-billion Joint Infrastructure Fund (JIF), which is predicted to fuel growth in infrastructure and energy projects between the two states.
First established in 2008, the JIF was canceled due to various factors, Indonesia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs said, adding that “both governments have sorted things out and we are ready to move on with the fund.”
Meanwhile, HE the Qatari Minister of Economy and Commerce said that bilateral trade between the two countries now account for nearly USD1.5 billion registered by year.
“The relationship between Qatar and Indonesia is at its best. I believe there is a big opportunity for the business communities of the two countries to grow,” he said in a statement.
