(MENAFN) Qatari Finance Minister, HE Ali Sherif Al Emadi confirmed that entities under the Tenders and Auction Law had spent around QR39b during the past nine months on public projects, including small and medium-sized enterprises.
During the opening of the second edition of the Contracting Conference and Exhibition ‘Moushtarayat 2017’, the minister said that government has taken several initiatives to establish an appropriate environment for expanding SME’s contribution to infrastructure.
However, the expo offers at least 2,000 business opportunities worth that QR2.5b, in addition to that it has an important chance to support communication between ministers and government agencies.
Finance Minister Al Emadi added that Qatar is moving towards supporting economic activities in non-oil sectors while enhancing the private sector’s role in implementing a wide range of development projects.
