Qatar lays cornerstone for USD4.67b reservoirs project

(MENAFN) Qatar’s Prime Minister and Interior Minister inaugurated the USD4.67 billion Strategic Mega Reservoirs Project by laying the cornerstone upon which water supplies are set to be spread throughout Qatar, The Peninsula reported.
The project includes 24 mega reservoirs in five distinct sites and comes under Kahramaa’s – Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation ” strategy to further increase its water storage and secure water to all regions in the Gulf country.
The 24 reservoirs will enjoy a capacity of 2273 million gallons. In addition, 650 kilometers of pipelines will be established to connect all of the distillation plants at the five sites.
