(MENAFN) Qatar global natural gas production reached 5.1 percent, listing the country as the third largest producer of NG worldwide, preceded only by the Russian Federation and the United States, Gulf Times reported.
Additionally, Qatar ranks as the world’s top exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with 31 percent of total global exports in 2014. According to analysts, these prolific results are attributable to the country’s humongous amounts of hydrocarbon reserves.
“We expect the non-hydrocarbon sector to grow at around 10.8 percent in 2015-17, driven by investment in major infrastructure projects. This should lead to overall growth of 7 percent in 2015, 7.5 percent in 2016 and 7.9 percent in 2017,” QNB said in a statement.
