Qatar, Pakistan to settle LNG price

(MENAFN) Pakistan stills discussing a multibillion-dollar liquefied natural gas (LNG) import deal with Qatar and predicts to reach a price for the deal by end of this month.

Furthermore, the 15-year contract will be for 1.5mn tons a year of LNG, while the price has not been agreed yet and the final agreement will be this month or in Feb.

In addition, gas utilized to produce almost half of Pakistan’s electricity, which generates almost 4.1bn cubic feet per day but needs around 6bn cubic feet per day.

Pakistan’s shortage figure is higher amounted to 2.5bn cubic feet per day and other 2bn cubic feet per day for constrained need adding more than 4bn.
