(MENAFN) Qatar and the Philippines have inked trade deals worth USD200mn amid the final leg of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Gulf tour, as proclaimed Manila’s trade and industry secretary.
Accordingly, 6.000 jobs would be made in the Philippines as a result of the 13 agreements inked between private firms, which comprised areas like health, defense and tourism.
In addition, Duterte thrilled a sell-out audience by repeating his uncompromising strategy pledges on drugs, which has gained him popularity at home and notoriety in the West.
Meanwhile, some Filipino workers are treated in the Gulf despite criticism, while expats managed to send home more than USD7bn in remittances last year.
