(MENAFN) Qatari Minister of Energy Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada unveiled plans to invest up to USD19.2 billion utilities over the coming decade, Qatar News Agency reported.
Speaking at the 10th GCC Water Conference, the minister said that his country had big plans to invest in utilities to meet growing demand for power and water.
He explained that Qatar plans to spend USD6.04 billion on upgrading its water networks, and around USD8.23 billion on electricity by 2021.
Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has already put the plans in motion, signing 20 projects related to water and electricity, he said, adding that infrastructure upgrade projects would also be announced soon.
