(MENAFN) Qatar Petroleum (QP) said that it has signed a new agreement with Royal Dutch Shell and PetroChina in order to boost the production of natural gas in zone (D) near Ras Lafan area, Reuters reported.
Qatari Minister of Energy Abdullah Al-Attiya said in a press statement after the signing ceremony that such agreement, the second for Qatar, designed for the discovery of natural gas deep beneath the earth surface.
Al-Attiya added that QP is preparing to offer more discovery tenders to such deep levels, noting that Shell was among the biggest investors of developing natural gas resources in Qatar.
The official welcomed as well the agreement signed with the two companies noting that the Chinese company is a new investor in Qatar.
