Qatar transportation projects value estimated at USD79b

(MENAFN) Qatar is in the center of world’s construction activities, with an estimated value of USD79 billion transportation project in its fund and USD44 billion currently under construction in the country.

Meanwhile, another USD35 billion in projects is due to be awarded over the next three years, figures revealed on the ‘Meed Qatar Transportation Forum’ suggested.

Meed forecast USD13.71 billion for Qatar’s long range development plans (LRDP). According to Meed, the combined value of contracts awarded in GCC hit USD170 billion in 2014, the best-ever in the region.

Meanwhile, the 2015 Mena Reinsurance Barometer by the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) revealed more than USD1.4 trillion worth of projects are currently underway in the GCC region alone.
