(MENAFN) The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said that it plans to launch projects worth of $19.23 billion over the coming five to eight year, The Peninsula reported.
The authority’s Acting General Manager, Nasser Al Mowlawi, said that Ashghal has earmarked $12.36 billion to be spent on road projects, and $6.87 billion for major sewage projects.
He said that Ashghal would launch 22 major road projects during the next five to eight year. The projects are being envisaged to meet the demands of Qatar’s future growth as seen by the General Secretariat for Development Planning. Al Mowlawi pointed out that once these projects are completed, the country will have world-class roads and sewage networks.
Local companies are invited to bid for contracts in the proposed projects, he said.
