(MENAFN) A report issued by the Qatar Statistics Authority showed that the country’s consumer price index (CPI) has fallen by 0.95 percent in September from a year earlier, while it was almost unchanged from the previous month, QNA reported.
According to the authority, this decline could be attributed to the continuing fall in rents in September 2010 compared to September 2009 in about 11.64 percent.
A remarkable increase in Food, beverages and tobacco CPI was noticed in September 2010 with about 1.44 percent compared to August 2010, and 2.43 percent when compared to September 2009.
Entertainment, Recreation and Culture CPI was the highest among all groups that gained an increase of about 6.00 percent during September 2010 compared to August 2009.
