(MEANFN) Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said that the second phase of the Industrial Area interchange project (the underpass) will be completed and handed over to the authority by mid-March, The Peninsula reported.
A structural engineer at Konstruktor Engineering, which is the construction company handling the first three phases of the Industrial Area interchange project, said that they plan to deliver the second and third phases of the $178.6 million project for opening in March and April, respectively.
The structural engineer said that the firm is speeding up work and is working overtime in order to hand over the project on time to Ashghal. The engineer added the entire project, which includes an 80-meter roundabout, and landscaping by the side of the underpass will be completed in July.
He pointed out that the Industrial Interchange (Phase III) is part of the overall Doha Expressway project which includes 12 other packages.
The first three phases of the Industrial Area interchange project include the three-lane Al Furusiya Road leading to the Industrial Area upper bridge, the overpass, the underpass and the recently opened highway.
