(MENAFN) Qatar Railways Company (QRail) will delay tenders for phase one of the Doha Metro project to the second quarter of 2012, Arabian Business reported.
The tenders was originally planned to set up by the end of this year, but delayed the process for further detailed studies of the project.
A total of 80-90 consortia have been identified as qualified to bid for QrRail’s Doha Metro phase 1 projects.
Consortia were invited earlier this year to submit expressions of interest in QRail’s metro civil contracts, each worth between USD700 million to USD1.5 billion, by the end of the summer, QRail programme director for the Metro Red Line Markus Demmler said.
