(MENAFN) Official data showed that Qatar’s trade balance achieved a surplus of USD3.92 billion in July, marking a drop of 1.4 percent compared to June and 55.6 percent compared to July 2014.
The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) said that exports for July were worth USD6.44 billion, down 41.7 percent compared to the same month of last year and 1.1 percent on-month.
Meanwhile, Imports were up 13.5 percent month-on-month to USD2.52 million. Petrol and Hydrocarbon exports were down by 40.5 percent to USD4.27 billion, the ministry’s data showed.
Japan was the top exporter to Qatar, exporting USD1.17 billion worth of products. South Korea came in second place with USD1.09 billion. The two countries combined represent 37.1 percent of Qatar’s total imports.
