(MENAFN) Data showed that Qatar’s trade surplus dropped by 53 percent to USD11.88 billion in the second quarter period of 2015, dragged down by lower energy exports.
The Gulf country’s trade balance surplus, meanwhile, stood at USD25.56 billion in the April-June period of the year, data by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics showed.
The value of Qatar’s total exports in the period amounted to USD19.93 billion, decreased by USD12.93 billion, or 39.3 percent, compared to USD32.86 billion in the same quarter of 2014.
The drop in total exports was mainly attributed to lower exports of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials by USD13.12 billion and manufactured goods by USD1.09 billion.
